privacy policy

Your details, kept gently.

Bianca Kau (“Bianca”, “I”, “me”) runs biancakau.com. This is a small studio site, and I respect your privacy with any information collected while running it. This page explains what is gathered, why, and how it is handled. If anything is unclear, please just write to me.

Last updated June 2026.

  1. Visitors to the site

Like most websites, this one records non-identifying information of the kind browsers and servers make available: browser type, language preference, the page that referred you, and the date and time of each request. The purpose is simply to understand how the site is used, and from time to time I may share such information in aggregate, for example a note on overall traffic trends.

  2. Information you choose to give

The site has no accounts, logins, or comments. You only share personal details if you reach out to me directly, for example by email or through a commission enquiry. In that case I collect what is needed to reply and, if you go ahead, to make and ship your piece: typically your name, email address, postal address, your reference photos and notes, and the personal or payment details required to process the order.

I collect only what is necessary for that purpose. You can always decline to share something, with the understanding that it may prevent us from completing a commission.

  3. How your information is protected

I do not rent or sell your personal information to anyone. I share it only with the services and people needed to do the work, such as a payment processor or a postal carrier, and only as much as the task requires. Some of these services may be based outside your home country; by using the site you consent to that transfer.

I may also disclose information if required by a court order, subpoena, or other legal request, or where I believe in good faith it is reasonably necessary to protect rights, property, or safety. I take reasonable measures to guard against unauthorised access, use, alteration, or loss of the information I hold.

  4. Reference photos & finished work

How commission images are used is set out in full in the shop policies. In short: your reference photos may appear in “reference and embroidery” comparisons, and I may photograph and share the finished piece in my portfolio and on social media. If you would rather your commission stay private, just tell me and I will keep it so.

  5. Email & correspondence

If you write to me, I keep our correspondence so I can answer you and support your commission. From time to time I may reproduce a question (without identifying you) to help answer it or to help other people with the same query. I will not add you to a mailing list without your asking.

  6. Cookies & analytics

A cookie is a small piece of information a site stores in your browser. This site keeps cookies to a minimum and does not run advertising. If you prefer, you can set your browser to refuse cookies, though a few features may then not work as intended. Any analytics used here are for understanding overall traffic, not for tracking you across other sites.

  7. Your rights

You may ask me what personal information I hold about you, request a copy, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it once it is no longer needed for an order or required by law. To make any of these requests, write to hello@biancakau.com.

  8. Business transfers

In the unlikely event that the studio is transferred to, or merged with, another party, the information held could be among the assets passed on. Should that happen, your information would continue to be handled under a policy no less protective than this one.

  9. Changes to this policy

This policy may change from time to time. Most changes are likely to be small. The current version always lives on this page, with the date it was last updated noted at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
